I have 4-6 pounds of 1680, enough to last me in the 460 S&W forever for hunting ammo! If I CAN JUST FIND SOME DATA!! I need your help!! Please someone has to have seen or have data for this powder! I saw it on a website once and thought I saved it but closed it without saving it! :banghead: I know that 296, 110, 2400, #9, lil'gun, and a couple others will work but AA1680 is in the perfect heat range for what I am trying to do and would be the only thing I can use this powder for that I own! Everything else it is to slow or to fast, I will use AA5477 if I have to but would like to use it with the jacketed 300 grain SST load I have worked up already, and PREFER CAST FOR HUNTING!! BIG GAME!

I recently purchased a new MGM stainless 16" full bull 460 S&W with a Gary Reeder muzzle brake, I Have a 358 win. barrel set up the same that I would prefer for deer hunting as it does shoot flatter with power and accuracy enough for around 300 yards, but since I live in Ohio, can only use it in Indiana, the other state I deer hunt. I went with the 454 in a super R.H. for the past couple years, in Ohio, and Ind. when very thick cover where shots were expected to be under 100 yards or multiple shots could be needed, like the final 3-4 days of the season when one might have to drive to move deer.

I bought this 460 because it will take any game! period!! and will work on elk, deer, moose, black bear, and hogs as far out as 250 yards, which is as far out as I feel confident with my ability to shoot it accurately enough to make one shot kills on the game mentioned! In order to do this I have a custom mold that cast's a 340 grain WFGC bullet, which I feel is the perfect weight for any 45 cal. my 45 colt at 800fps will PENETRATE like you wont believe!! it is my do everything bullet in my 454 SRH, and it will be in my 460 I am sure I can get 1900 to 2000 fps. and 1" to 1 1/2" 100 yard groups! That will give under 4" accuracy at 250 yards! But what I want to do is achieve this goal with AA1680 powder!! and right now can't find data to start with, I will use the H-110, or AA5744 if need be but PLEASE HELP ME FIND SOME DATA FOR the 1680?? I think at age 55 I will be done searching for or buying big game handguns!!;):D

Speer list some info for a 300 grain jacketed and 1680, but I have nothing that lists it with a lead bullet.

Thanks for the info Ol'Joe!I think that was the sight I saw it on, my acurate manual is to old and has no 460 data, shoulda went to the sight!! u 2 NC I new it was close to the two you mentioned but would be nice to find an accurate load with 1680 and unless I go to africa it'l do all I need. I won't be usin the 460 for much plinkin got the 454 and 358 win. for that!!;)
