I have a Hornady load book that shows a pretty wide range of 55 to 65 grains of H4831 and Hornady 139 grain spire point boat tail bullets for 7mm rem magnum. What is a good accurate load for this bullet and powder?

Looking at the Hodgdon site it only list the GMX under the 139gr bullets so that really isn't going to help you out much.

The newest Hornady manual I have listed what you posted 55.5 - 65grs.

So where would be the most accurate, somewhere in between 55.5 and 65.0grs I would say.

Your rifle is different than any other one out there, and is going to like what it likes, which is why you start low and work up. IE- You might find that yours like something around 56.8grs where mine likes 64.2grs. Plus your seating depth, primer choice, barrel length and taper, all come into play so there isn't just one magic number.

Wished there were, sure would make things a lot easier sometimes.

If you want to use a bullet that light, you may want to consider a somewhat faster powder, like 4350. If you want to use H4831, you might want to consider a heavier bullet.

I load a variety of bullets between 130 gr. and 150 gr. with H4831 in 7mm RM. H4831 should do fine, though your velocity is not going to be up in the typical 7 mag. neighborhood, but in my experience, accuracy can certainly be attained.

I have loads with some 139's, 140's, and 145's that range from 58.0 gr. to 64.5 gr.. I've found that with that weight range bullet, starting some where around 57.0 grs. is probably going to save you some time and components, there no real need to start at 55.0 grs. with this powder / bullet combo.

As for what's going to be the accurate charge, and oal, it's going to take some work up to find the most accurate.
