Acronyms

When I first started posting, I saw a lot of acronyms that I didn't understand. I would ask or would eventually figure them out. I thought it would be good to have a list to refer to if and when someone comes across one they don't understand. Feel free to add any I may have missed.

TEOTWAWKI - The End Of The World As We Know It

SHTF - Doggie Do Hits The Fan

FTF - Failure to Feed

FTE - Failure to Eject

IMO - In My Opinion

IMHO - In My Humble Opinion (Harder to Find )

YMMV - Your Methods May Vary

IANAL - I Am Not A Lawyer

LEO - Law Enforcement Officer

FOIA - Freedom Of Information Act

CWP - Concealed Weapons Permit

CHP - Concealed Handgun Permit

BPCR black powder cartridge rifle

Yup, FTF is context sensitive.

If you're in the semi auto forum it's "failure to feed".
If you're in the revolver forum it's "failure to fire".
If you're in the "for sale" areas it's "face to face".
If you're on the X-files fan site it's "fight the future".

you are so right. everyone once in a while i will see a gun for sale. and see FTF. Being an active reloader i think. Fail to fire then think why would i want to buy a gun that cant shoot.

YMMV - I think that's from the old TV car commercials: "Your mileage may vary". IOW [in other words] your results will depend on your circumstances.

I'm sure the berettaprofessor meant the acronym section of the library is in the lower left portion of the page; the link, as noted, is in the upper right corner.
