Nit picking about ad/nd is silly. He admitted what he did and that is that. National and international level competition is as high as stress gets in shooting sports. Computer shooters need to shoot some real competition to get it. As far as various competitions being real, the rules governing the disipline shot is the "reality" there in.

Thank you Justin for post #26.

It wasn't a negligent, accidental, or even unintended discharge. There is already a word for it. It was a FLYER. We all have them he just got one at a very bad time.

I don't know why but it irritates me that anyone would be hard on this guy for pulling ONE shot. When we all know he could outshoot ANY of us.

I vote unintentional discharge based on what the Olympian said. Even still, an Olympic shooter's unintentional discharge can be indistinguishable from one of my concentrated, intended shots. As to whether it's an AD or ND, I'd rather let a jury of his peers decide. I'm not one of his peers.

Respectfully request that a mod lock this thread. This has devolved into a stupid discussion of terminology (AD vs. ND. vs. pulling vs. whatever you want to call a shot going off before the shooter's fully ready).

My original intent was to call attention to an event that most of the world didn't notice, but that holds interest to shooters. I didn't want to denigrate Matt in any way - I felt bad for the guy, and for the US team. I could imagine the moment of shock, and the sudden desire for the rewind button because I have shot competitively.

Many attitudes displayed here are why the shooting sports are in decline. No newcomer would want to deal with alot of you.
