Hi everyone, flexible here. Well after a few years of skeet I dug out my S&W M&P15.
Maybe it's all the skeet with the adjustable comb but after shouldering the AR it almost screams for an adjustable comb or riser.
It looks simple to change the butt stock, has anyone purchased a butt stock from another manufacturer (FAB, Taccom, etc) and can you recommend one.
thanks

For an actually adjustable cheek riser, FAB Defense was the first stock that came to mind.

You can also get a riser for Magpul MOE or CTR stocks. Not fully adjustable, but they come in 3 different heights depending on what you need.

Thanks everyone, leaning towards the Magpul PRS. Looked at the Command Arms Sniper but it's discontinued - almost $500 as well.

I agree. I feel like the old A2 stock is actually a pretty good stock all in all but it would really benefit from an adjustable comb I didn't want a collapsible stock and the Magpul, though exceptionally well made, is heavier than I want, especially after installing a 20" long heavy barrel and an optic. I put a Magpul PRS on my AR10T and the weight change was definitely noticeable. For my AR15, I just wanted an A2 style stock with an adjustable comb and I never found one so I put that AR10T's A2 style buttock on it and now I'm curious to see what suggestions pop up here. I might just buy one and fabricate something.

If you remember, Colt made a clamp-on clamshell riser for the fixed stocks.....last time I tried to find one they were unobtainium, even on Fleabay.

The FAB Defense stocks are nice, though a bit pricey.

I really like the Luth-AR, but you have to extend the stock to the last 2 notches during shooting, otherwise it will interfere with fully retracting the charging handle on a .223/.308 gun.

I have the S&W M&P. Magpul offers cheek risers in 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 inch heights that will snap onto the stock with a wide adjustment from front to back and stay in place. I have used one of these for years and it is comfortable and requires nothing to maintain it.

That looks like exactly what I'm looking for. Amazon has it for less than $20 too. except it's for "use on NON AR15/M4".

You don't need to raise your POI with an AR.

I put a magpul PRS lite on my dads Grendel, Its really pretty sweet. Might do a chassis gun and use one on there.

I prefer the Luth-AR and XLR stocks to the Magpul PRS stocks. The new PRS Lite is a bit more appropriate for balancing the rifle than the previous 3 generations - effectively a Magpul UBR with an adjustable cheek riser - for which many of us have been asking since the original UBR dropped. Any of these 3 are great options.

Almost certain to order the Magpul PRS G3. No problems installing on the S&W M&P, correct?
thanks
