This is for Louisiana people, Baton Rouge area. Sorry other parts, but its for us. I want to look into more training than the basic CCW class that we had to take. But I can't afford to go out of state anywhere, and barely in state. So does anyone know of classes that are more sophisticated than the basic CCW that is available and good in the BR area?

Also look into Bang!, Inc., the company run by Jerry Miculek and his wife, Kay Clark Miculek. The Web site is here. They're near Shreveport, and use the Clark Custom Guns range for their courses. Kay can be contacted at Clark Guns & Personal Safety at (318) 742-7230. (Their gunshop also has great prices and lots of goodies... shameless plug, since I spent a bunch there a few days ago! :D )

I just got done taking my CCW class from Bang Inc. and it was a good experience. Nothing like getting to talk to Jerry Miculek and shoot at his range. Kay does the classroom portion(and she was great) and Jerry does the range portion. I plan on taking several classes by them this year. Another plus like Preacherman says is the classrrom part is at Clarks and they have alot of goodies in there! Ironic isnt it!:D

Tom Givens (Rangemaster) will be conducting a two day "Combative Pistol" class in Baton Rouge March 25-26. Course will be taught at the LSU Law Enforcement Training Center in St. Gabriel, LA (8 miles south of Tiger Stadium). I believe cost is still just $300.

This is one of the best defensive pistol classes you can take - much better than OPS in my opinion (I have taken both).

www.rangemaster.com Click on "Class Descriptions", and then look under "Off-Site" courses. "Combative Pistol" is the name of the class.
