Are you SURE the muzzle device isn't pinned and/or silver soldered? It can sometimes be hard to tell.

BSA1 Just a passing thought to those of you that want to turn the owner into the police, put them out of business, bankrupt them and put them in prison...

What if you are wrong?
It doesn't take a math degree to measure barrel length.

What is your attitude going to be while they undergo a unnecessary police investigation and audit by the BATF?
If they are selling illegal SBR's they NEED to be investigated.
If they were warned and failed to act they don't have any business being licensed gun dealers.

I would call and voice my concerns.

Tell them you don't want to cause them any trouble, but were very concerned about what you observed. If they maintain it's fine, and you feel certain that they are in the wrong, the right thing to do is then call BATF and voice your concerns, and let them handle it.

BATF will follow up and if all is well, all is well.

If all is not well, you could save this place and one of their customers a WORLD of hurt.

Because I pushed the pin on the front sight base unscrewed it and removed it.

I stopped in after work and told the guy there.

He pulled it and said he would tell the boss in the morning.

I would definitely inform them. What I would do next would depend on how they responded.

My biggest concern would be for some unsuspecting person who might buy it. But on the other hand, the only way it would probably ever be checked after it was sold would be if the buyer did something to cause it to get checked.
Such as getting stopped for a broken tail light on the way to the range?

Someone nicked the pawn broker pretty good. He loaned some money on something he can't sell. Which is sort of like baiting and shooting sharks. Never saw a good deal in a pawn shop and I used to haunt a few.

I would have told the guy anyway. It's the sporting thing to do. ;)
