I have been seriously contemplating purchasing either an Aegis or an Aegis Enhanced belt from Ares Gear. Anyone here have one of these belts?

Pros/cons,...likes/dislikes?

What color combination did you go with?

Please post pics if you got 'em

I went with the Ranger type from Ares Gear. Excellent belt, crazy strong scuba webbing and cobra buckle. No experience with the Aegis.

These are GTG from AresGear

Nice belt...but the Ranger screams "I'm a gun guy!" to me and probably anyone else who sees it. The Aegis belt is far better suited for the grey man in the crowd.

Sorry. Didn't mean to offend you. Just an opinion.

In that case, I'd recommend the most expensive belt. You'll be happier. That's an opinion, too.

I didn't know your primary objective but l agree completely. For a lower profile look, I wear the Comp-Tac leather Kydex reinforced Contour and Tapered belt.

Tapered version shown in the bottom pic.

I'm not offended. I'm just wondering if you actually read the original post. If you have something worthwhile to contribute, by all means please do. If not, why bother?

I don't know if you're still tracking your thread here but I own both the Aegis and Ranger.

I personally prefer the Aegis over the Ranger. It's much easier to take off and on (versus the ranger), still nice and rigid belt (but not overly so), and can go without getting a second look with a shirt tucked in (hard to do with the Ranger).

I ran it for the first time in a class last weekend which involved a significant amount of ground work and one handed manipulations utilizing the belt and it was fantastic. Well worth the money.

Regular Aegis user here, and really like mine. Best casual gun belt I've used. Stiff, easy to adjust, easy to put on and take off. I have the brushed stainless buckle with coyote webbing. Works well with khakis, jeans or shorts. Need to get another one in a different color for some variety.

Only con of the belt is it is just as noisy to take it off or put on as a Wilderness Instructor belt.
