Aero Precision Moving Out Of Tacoma Because of New Gun and Ammo Tax. This is the headline I just saw.

The town just taxed all the Aero employees. and the company to another town in Washington. It is subtraction by addition.

I really like their products and wish them well.

Tacoma got what they wanted. An “evil company” left. In the City Councils’ mind this means unicorns will sprout from the turf and fart rainbows and skittles and life in that crime ridden burg will become all patchouli oil and Birkenstock’s .

Hopefully nothing will fill in the revenue hole in Tacoma’s budget that Aero leaves. :neener:

I wish Aero Precision, and the new location that welcomes them, well.

Stay safe.

These things are a cancer and staying in the state is not a long-term plan to escape it.

I guarantee-damn-tee you that if it hasn't happened already - it will in the near future that at least 2 Lakewood and/or Pierce County bureaucrats are or will have the discussion centered on: "Wait.... Just wait until they are settled.... They won't want to undertake the stress and financial burden of relocating too soon."

This WILL follow them and if we were still associates, I'd be there to say "told'ya so" and I would not be the least bit pleased to do so.

I will be eminently pleased to be proven wrong within the next ten years.

Todd.

While I am happy at the finger my favorite AR manufacturer has given fascists that control that part of the country, we cannot run forever.:(

I should have some replacement screws here tomorrow for a some I ruined on an Enhanced hand guard.

(Did you know they make a Loc-tite for tiny screws? And it isn’t blue...:( Where’s the doofus smiley for myself?)

You mean you just now found that out?:D Clear fingernail polish did the job for a lot of years but like everything old it's apparently no good for the younger generations. Blue is for bolts, not screws but what the heck, use what you want and deal with it when you decide to remove the screws.

Green? :)

First time I saw green Loctite was in a recall kit for small throttle-position sensor screws. Replaced lots of those sensors, so I have tons of extra threadlocker laying around.

Ryan Mello, the Tacoma Council member who was instrumental in the original tax is now on the Pierce County Council. It went blue for the 1st time in a while this last "election." I really do wish them well but they should have left this sh!#hole state. I've been here my entire life and will be leaving upon retirement. (If our company is in business in 3 years that is.)

Does Pam Roach still sit on the council?

Didn't Aero Precision originally make parts for the aerospace industry. They probably have some deep roots in Washington.
Still, with that industry fleeing (when allowed) and no significant start-ups in Washington, might be a good time to get while the gettin's good.

As far as families... Take a page out of Buck Knives' relocation plan to get the hell outa California.

And Weatherby, and Safariland/Bianchi, and (on and on and on!)

Stay safe.

Sorry about that, but look it all over once last time when you do go. Gather the sights, sounds, smells. And remember.
The law of comparison; the NEW location's smell of FREEDOM!! Good luck !

It's not easy to lose 75% or more of your workforce to move to another state.
This is about business.
While I agree with this, it’s not that difficult to inquire about new employees. There are actually people who want to work. Not speaking of myself. I’m not losing my job anytime soon (CoVid nurse). And I would feel for the employees that couldn’t go.
