Looking for an affordable SA .22 revolver...

Besides the Rough Rider, any suggestions?

Thinking I'll be looking for a good used Ruger Single Six, just don't know what my options are otherwise.

Nothing wrong with a Single-Six and it will last forever. There really aren't too many quality SA .22 revolvers around that are what would be called inexpensive. In the gun world you usually have to pay for quality although I do think they are all overpriced!

You cant beat the Single Six (except by going to the stainless version). The only problem is that in alot of areas, used ones are impossible to find because no one wants to get rid of them.

I think for the money, a used Single Six (or Super Single Six), would definitely be the route to take if you are looking for a quality SA .22 revolver.

Forget the Heritage. The least expensive .22 SA I could recommend in good conscience would be a used Single Six. They can often be had for well under $300. Which is a bargain that will net several lifetimes worth of shooting.

yeah maybe, but there are good deals to be found but not on a puter screen.

Nothing beats networking and gunshop hoping with cash, I just bought a 1962 Colt frontier scout for $200. so deals are still out there ;)

If you really wanna go that cheap, look for an Excam.

This I got on a trade and it ended up shooting high and a little to the left. I ended up selling it for $65, you can't get much cheaper than that!

Having just bought and shot a very old used 3 screw Single Six I can now attest to the idea that these are amazing guns with very decent, but perhaps not quite up to match grade accuracy that have a VERY long useful lifespan. I'm sure that my new used gun has shot many thousands of rounds over it's life time but it is still able to shoot very well. And certainly far better than its new owner can hold and see.... :D

So don't be afraid to pickup even an older Single Six. You won't regret it.
