Took 11 kinds of .22lr to the range this morning; some of it is affordable, some not so much. Some of it is among the ammo that Live Life has been keeping track of. Shot 5 rounds of each variety at 50m through my Savage Mk II with Burris 3-9x Droptine scope. Here's how my group sizes stacked up. from best accuracy to worst:
1. SK Standard Plus 1/4"
2. Wolf Match 7/16"
3. SK Rifle Match 1/2"
4. CCI Standard Velocity 5/8"
5. Eley Target 5/8"
6. Norma Match 5/8"
7. Norma Tac-22 9/16"
8. Lapua Center-X 11/16"
9. Eley Club 7/8"
10. Aguila Super Extra 1 1/8"
11. Federal Auto-Match 1 3/8"
Of course, your mileage my vary. I couldn't believe the SK Standard, it did far better than the higher-priced SK Match and Lapua. All of those are at or above 20 cents a round, so not something that I will be shooting often. For my money, the CCI SV is the way to go; in fact, I just got a case delivered this week from Target Sports USA for $399.95, plus tax; with free shipping, worked out to about 8 cents a round.
