Rush is simply a Dem hater from what I saw during the Clinton years when I quit listening to him.

Gun owners do face bigotry from these groups just as HD and BWM owners face bigotry form certain groups that think they they are better than they are for whatever reason

Then we need to pass laws penalizing those people who practice HD and BMW bigotry and discrimination. Whining loudly about other people not liking you because you own guns is not the same as protesting loudly that you are discriminated against on the basis of you race, ethnicity, etc. You have the choice of getting rid of your guns, not the color of your skin. That is why mentioning guns and civil rights is playing the race card and is offensive to many people of color. That is my point. And by the way, I hope the moderators warned you about what you did on the police state thread. I think you should have been banned.

Bigotry and prejudice do not refer only to skin color, religion, gender, sexuality or shoe size. Moreover, go look up hypocrisy. Keep in mind that these same folks who are offended when someone else is a bigot have no problem being bigoted themselves if it is prejudiced in a way they like.

I'd address your comment about guns being a choice (maybe not something you can choose whether you enjoy or not, but something you can choose whether or not you actively participate in) and as such is not something that can be a target of bigotry, but the direction I'd take it is forbidden on this forum. I will say, simply, that your position is absolutely not consistent.

It is my experience that gun owners are some of the nation's most highly educated and unpstanding individuals, yet I have been confronted by liberals time and time again with the notion that gun owners are uneducated, knuckle-dragging morons.

Here, and in other threads, the proposition that being a gunowner equates to being discriminated against (BIGOTRY) has been thrown in. Throw it out.

Okay, so what is the CARRY'IN definition of "bigot"? Can you tell me why it is okay to be prejudiced based on the choice to own a firearm but not based on who they choose pray to or who they choose to sleep with?

OK, you got me here. My definition of bigot is racial and in the dictionary it is not. I have definiteley seen the race/gun owner device on other, similar, threads. I concede the detail, but not the idea that gunowners trying to pass themselves off as some special category of oppressed citizens is counterproductive to supporting RKBA. I will leave this thread with my tail tucked. Have fun.
