I haven't watched these closely. I did recently notice they are very high.

Why have AR prices come back to close to normal but AK prices have stayed high? Less coming into the country? I did see one at my LGS today I.O. Hellcat? It was made with a US receiver and US parts I believe and seemed nice but was $850

Are they currently heading up/down/or stabilized?

Yes...kicking myself for not buying a cheap one for $300 or a nice one for $500 back in the day.

I saw one in an email today for $650 or so. No details and I think I deleted the message. CTD, CDNN, AIM or such I think.
That was for an AK 74 not a 47.

AK bulk surplus ammo has remained pretty good at $300 for a 1000 rds vs the 5.56 which can be doubled . Its a give and take.

With the current people in the White House, it will be getting harder and harder to import any more surplus guns. And if being made from US parts the cost will be higher.

I have been in the market for an AK for the last couple weeks. After comparing prices to quality ($800 WASR after shipping and transfer?? no thanks), I said screw it and just ordered a lightweight AR from PSA for $698. Dont get me wrong, not saying that WASR are "bad" rifles, they are a great $300 semi auto. Hmm, WASR vs $100 cheaper PSA AR15. Really hard decision.

I could still use a milled Arsenal AK though.....Only double the price of a decent quality AR15....

That is the magical question.

I still see WASR10 AK's for $900 at my LGS while you can get AR's for under $800 new.

WASRs are still ridiculous for some odd reason. A lot of Arsenal AKs are high too, but the older imports are starting to climb back down.
