Was looking at the LGS for a Glock 19 when an American Arms Regulator caught my eye. 5.5" barrel. Nickeled frame, blued trigger guard/backstrap/cylinder/barrel. Factory engraved frame/cyl/barrel/TG/BS.
.45 Colt. $275 plus tax.
I'm not sure why I didn't buy it. It feels great in the hand. It's beautiful. It's in a caliber I like.

It had one small scratch on the TG. The bottom front corner of the walnut grip was chipped. (no biggie, since I'd want to replace the grip with one made of holly or mahogany, anyway.

Why, oh why, did my buddy have to let me shoot his G23 AFTER he had a trigger job?

The Regulator was shipped in 1999 only. Parts should interchange. Back then Uberti did not have a super reputation for reliabilty with the cowboy guns. The good guns started about 2000-2001.

You can buy the Uberti 1873 Cattleman Hombre NIB for $250.00. Exterior is matte black and you can find a tool mark or two but it is a great buy. An action job and a set of Wolf Springs and you are good. Some of the cowboys blast off the matte black and get a "Patina Color Package" from Midway or Brownell. After the patina, looks like someone discovered a mint but used Peacemaker.

But, the nickeled/engraved Regulator is so purty.
It also has the hammer with the safety, to allow carrying 6 loaded chambers.

They also have a Cimarron Uberti SAA with the 7.5" barrel and the old model (black powder) frame.

This one was marked A. Uberti, under the barrel. I may have to go back and try to get it. My buddy had an Uberti .45 C/ACP convertible 1873, back in the early '90s and it was a good gun.

I got a 45 acp conversion cylinder with my Cimarron/Uberti and have never used it. So far I've only shot it as 45 Colt but will have to try it out next time I go to the range.
