Alt rifles for 7.62x39 AK round?

I had a Ruger m77 in 7.62x39. Made in the 90s. Beautiful gun; very light. shot cheap wolf ammo into 1.5-2 inch groups (3 rounds; 100 yards).

I have a Colt AR-15 with a 7.62x39 Colt upper. It runs good with Colt mags which are difficult to find and if you do find them they are going to be expensive.

I have a couple of “jury-rigged” 30 round mags that use part of an AK-47 mag with a welded sleeve on top to fit into the AR-15 mag well -- not good at all.

I recently purchased four 30 round mags stamped with what looks like a “C” followed by a forward slash that has a twig-like fork on the top then the word “Products” that has the “P” in the shape of a handgun and lastly “LLC”. Under that: "Newington, CT"

I’ll try them out when our range reopens in nine days.

The VZ58 is a great choice...I had one and regret trading it away...
Currently I have a PTR-32. Another great gun in 7.62x39. But it is expensive and heavy.

C Products, now ASC. http://hamlundtactical.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=118_273_250&products_id=2242

Some of the old C Products restarted the company in Florida, now C Products Defense. They have only recently come online and their mags are less common. http://shop.lcjwholesalestore.com/28-RD-762X39-CPD-STAINLESS-STEEL-MAGAZINE-762x39-CPD-Stainless-magazine.htm

Even if some (Aussie) AIA "Jungle Carbines" in 7.62x39 were found, it is even harder to imagine finding spare parts.

In early '09 I handled the AIA "J. Carbine" at Gander Mountain, by Fashion Square Mall in Saginaw MI. It was very appealing.
At that time there reportedly were limited numbers imported, and the price tag on that rifle at G.M. was about $700 or so.

AIA also built some new generation Enfield #4s in .308, from what I remember on their website.

68wj - Am I going to be :) or  when I try the C Produts mags?
No idea, my only personal x39 experience is with a VZ-58.

I have heard mixed reviews of them, but know that they made a few tweaks and the last generation was rumored to be the most reliable. You are still dealing with a very tapered case that wants to stack in a curve, and then putting it though the straight mag well of the AR.

Cz 527

You'll never have more fun with such cheap ammo!
