Yes you are, No I just joking.

I used these before (Pyrodex pellets) and I find them to have a bit more punch (louder with more recoil.) They also seem to stink and foul worse than Pyrodex powder other than that they worked fine when not broken.

Another thing to consider is the stuff I was using (pellets) although it carried the Pyrodex brand name is not pyrodex but some sort of rocket fuel concoction that is said to have some hefty pressure spikes if the pellet is not intact (broken or crushed) and every batch I brought would always have a few broken ones. I have loaded these broken pellets and even topped whole ones off with fragments and experienced anything from greater noise and recoil to weak pops and poofs.

At that time I thought I was dealing with regular Pyrodex and not the finicky fuel concoction that it is.

I have had much more misfires and inconsistant ingnition with the pellets than with regular Pyrodex. That being said they were convenient to use and worked most of the time. Just don't crush or damage them in any way.

I am not sure how safe they are when damaged which is one reason I refuse to use them anymore.

I also decided for myself one of the fun parts of muzzleloading is tayloring your own loads which would be extremely limited using pellets.

Yeah they are easy but IMO the loads are more then i need for just shooting paper.

I think i prefer the 357 mag amount not sure its exact amount 22-25 grains seems about right for the distance im shooting and where i like to put the sights.

I think ill save the rest of the pellets i have for further out or if i decide to use these for hunting.

The paper cartridges are a little more to prep up but i think i have a decent system now and they seem to work just as good.

I have a can of the pellets, got them when I first got started..Now I use mainly the home made holy black..Still have some store bought BP, plus a half a can of Pryodex P.. And a little 2f T7 my brother gave me (only thing that like it though seems to be my Walker) The pellets are kept in my shootin box as an "emergency quick load" along with a few balls and caps, cause I generally keep most of my other powders and such in a seperate box. They are ok but I prefer something I can adjust so to speak.

I have used the pellets in my Pietta 1858's and they worked fine. But when I tried them in my Uberti 3rd Model Dragoon, I got a bit of a delayed ignition with them.

I clean my BP guns after each range session, so I am not worried about using Pyrodex in them.....
