Ammo Box Question?

I have 6 of them and consider them a good value at < $7.

I use them to carry rounds to then range for practice and matches. They hold about 1k rounds of 9mm...light weight and sturdy

...there is always that.

I find it keeps the weight down if I load my cartridges into plastic tray before putting them in the ammo box...usually about 400 rounds

I have a dozen or so 50 cal ammo cans. Stackable, sturdy, air tight.

They're a little heavier empty than one of the plastic equivalents, but I've never heard of anybody ever complaining about the handles coming off of one.

Dang heavy when you top one of those puppies off, though...which is why I have one labeled "Range". I just drop whatever I intend to shoot in it and go.

They have ammo boxes at harbor freight? Looks like I gotta stop by on the way home from work. Are they sold as ammo boxes or something else?

They are plastic boxes that look similar to metal surplus ammo boxes. IMO, it's better to spend the extra 2 bucks and get GI boxes.

It's Harbor Freight...use the 20% coupon and get them for about $4 each. I have used several for about a year now. They work fine for ammo and primer storage and transport. Don't confuse them with steel GI cans though.

I'm a city boy so I'm not used to hardware stores carrying anything gun related. I really need some cans but it is hard to spend the $20 the gi cans go for.

For $4 they cant be beat. Plus, they fit 1,000 loose 9mm rounds perfectly. They also stack nicely and won't tear your forearm muscles when fully loaded like the fat .50 cans will.

I got a couple of them. One is loaded with 800 223s, one with cleaning supplies, one with misc reloading supplies and the other is empty.

Have not had any problems with them.
