How do you dispose of 'bad' ammo? I have some old handloaded .223 rounds that are all corroded. They aren't anything I'd want to feed any of my guns. I also have some .22 rounds that never fired. I ran them through the magazine a couple of times but never fired. What should I do with these?

A couple options not listed above

pull the bullet and spread the powder in your garden
deep water
cut in half with side cutters
5 gallon bucket of used motor oil...let soak for several years till you fill the bucket

Give it to a handloader. He can pull the bullets and use them if they are in decent condition.

I heard hosing it with WD-40 (or any other penetrating oil) will render it inert, but I've never pulled one after doing so to verify.

Some recycling companies do bullets.

When I was supply at Ft Stewart we had to get rid of bulk ammo. They have some kind of bulletproof oven they put it all in and cook it until it all fires.

Then they recycle the metal.
