Hey all,
I've never really taken 7.62x39 seriously as a hunting round, but recently got myself a Ruger American Ranch for the purpose of hunting hogs, among other things. This rifle has turned out to be a real shooter, even with steel cased ammo, printing sub MOA groups of 5.
One of the reasons I went with this caliber is that it's economical. I'm not jumping on the $2+ per round bandwagon. Anyway, what I'm considering stocking up on is the PPU soft points, which seems like a deal at .70 a round.
There are two flavors. Pointed soft points and round nose soft points. Has anyone used either or both? Any comments?
Thanks.
