So at my local Bass Pro, they finally got some inventory on some pre-owned firearms. There was a rack out with a bunch of Tristar and similar price point shotguns with a Citadel thrown in. But there was something else there too. A polar opposite to the economy line shotguns.

What was it?

I’ll admit, the second I saw it, I was pretty certain what it was since I have been lusting for one for quite some time but could never justify it.

BTW, it was priced $300 above MSRP even if you included shipping and transfer.

I may have inadvertently mislead about the rack being full of shotguns. The rack was full of shotguns except this one.

Not sure. Looking at the lever it looks Winchester 1886 or 92 style action. The forend cap is unique with the sling notch instead of stud. Looks like nice checkered walnut. But 499.99 doesn't buy that so I,m thinking theres a 1 hiding there.

The design is that exactly that but the manufacturer states it is a cross between the 1886 and 1892. The first model rifle from this company split the difference between those two models to come up with the model number for this rifle.

The lever probably most resembles the Win Mod 71 lever. Itself, an iteration of the 1886.

Look around the Rifle Country sub forum to find a thread about these rifles.

Is it one of the Big Horn Amory rifles we've been discussing recently?
Ding, Ding, Ding! We have a winner! Very nice but a little out of my price range. I thought I spent a lot when I got my Browning M71 rifle back in the late 80s. But it was a wedding gift from my wife. Too bad my stimulus money has gone round a bout back to the gov. Thanks for the guessing game. Beats snow blowing.

Is it $499.99, $1,499.99 or $2,499.99? I can’t see the whole tag. :)

I know Big Horn Armory guns are pricy, the .500S&W starts at $2,400 and goes up from there. :what:

Stay safe.

It just cracks me up that in the midst of a whole slew of cheapo shotguns there was this high dollar semi custom rifle just chillin. The rack had two sides with nothing but entry level shotguns and this lone BHA shoulder cannon.

Yes it is. I was very surprised to see one in the wild like that. And it was a 460, making it a Model 90. That would be the one I would want. I’ve been thinking about it a little too hard.

It’s not a 4 but rather a 1. And there is a 3 in front of it. $3199. Whoof. Maybe it had a few options I didn’t notice but I think my eye is pretty good since I have basically memorized BHAs website.

Ding, Ding, Ding! We have a winner!
And what did our lucky contestant win?

Bragging rights until the clock strikes midnight.
