...to anyone who's ever been interested in dipping your toes in competitive shooting, or trying a revolver competitively, but didn't have the gear. I have a complete extra rig, so here's your chance - I'm offering the use of a tuned 4" Model 66, kydex holster, speedloaders & holders to anyone who PMs me to tell me they'd like to use it.

I'm in the Raleigh/Durham, NC area. Local matches include matches at The Range, Caswell Ranch, & Sir Walter Raleigh. In particular, the upcoming ICORE match at Caswell (Saturday, Jan 29th) would perfect for the new revo shooter, as it's generally small, very friendly, revolver-only, and run by one of the best wheelgunners in the country.

PM me if interested.

For January:

Caswell Ranch
IDPA: Saturday, 1/8, & Sunday, 1/23
USPSA: Saturday, 1/15
ICORE: Saturday, 1/29

The Range:
IDPA, Sunday, 1/9
Fun Match, Sunday, 1/16

Also, USPSA @ Sir Walter Raleigh, Saturday, February 5th.

Moderators: I posted this in General Discussion rather than Competition Shooting because it might interest some who don't ordinarily visit the latter.

What a great offer!

But I can't help but suspect that it's rather self serving. Obviously you're becoming pretty bored at being the only wheelgun shooter at the matches and are out to influence others over to the Dark Side of wheelgun match shooting.... :D

I'd take you up on it, if I was nearby. That reminds me, I need to take the wheelguns out for a spin. Been to long....:(

I can see how one could think that, but in fact, the opposite is true - we're in a great area for revolver shooters, and simply want to extend a terrific opportunity to anyone interested. We managed to attract 12 wheelgunners at last weekend's Sir Walter Raleigh's USPSA match (pic below; I'm the Dukie). I personally feel fortunate to be a wheelgunner around here.

Thanks for the post. I forwarded it to my son in Durham. he has a Glock 19 and I would like to see him get some shooting time with good instruction.

Thanks for your offer. When I was in college a nice older gentleman let me borrow his backup AR to get me into competitions. It is a very generous thing that you are doing, and I hope people take you up on it.

How did that go?
OK all of you, line up against the wall, I want to take a shot.

Pretty well obviously

Special Offer

Bump for Saturday's ICORE match at Caswell.

I'll likely be shooting my 625 .45acp, so in addition to a tuned Model 66, I'll also make available my primary IDPA rig, which includes a nicely-tuned 686 (and if you can do the coin trick, I may even let you keep it. :D).

ICORE is revolver-only and has separate classes for speedloader- and moonclipped-fed guns, so using speedloaders in no way puts one at a disadvantage. Like all matches at Caswell, it'll be a great match, and particularly fun and supportive, as we'll be revolver-only.

PM me if interested.

MrBorland,
You are really tops in my book! Making such a kind offer is rare thees days. I'm glad you are doing such a nice thing for revolver shooters, I'm a revolver shooter and try to get as many semi-auto guys I know to try revolvers at least once.

Very good Sir, keep it up!!! (anyone take you up on the offer yet?)
