Well folks, It's August again. Time for me to do my probably inconsequential part in providing for our National Defense. This afternoon I pack up with my Guard unit and head down to good ol' barf: ) Camp Grayling for Annual Training. I will return sometime on August 16th, though we have another drill day on the 17th (I will be able to post when I get home on the 16th).
As has become my tradition, I'll be sure to put up a Post-Grayling Field Report when I return. It's usually quite amusing (my dental adventure two years ago comes to mind). Mind you there are some things I leave out, but some things are best kept in-house (you all don't need to know about who's a jerk in my company, which officers I don't like, etc. anyway).
Now, Grayling is close to the last place I "feel" like going right now, but it's my job, so off I go. I'm with a good squad this year, though, and the 10 days in the field should go by smoothly. Besides, I'm sure the troops in Iraq REALLY don't feel like being in THAT craphole, so I'm not going to gripe.
UGH, I'm on Quartering Party, which means having to go to MOPP IV every time we move and scout out the new delta site. And, of course, my gas mask adapter for my CamelBak doesn't work (I need a third piece, which Eagle neglected to mention on their website).
It's always something. Though, this is my last Annual Training, so I'm going to make it a good one. Everybody be nice while I'm gone; if anybody causes trouble, I'll find out, and people'll all be like, "Wait 'till Nightcrawler gets home...you're gonna get it..."
So don't make me come back there.
Cheers!
