Jeez, Guess I do everything wrong

I use a .358 WSSM AR for deer. Not supposed to use an AR. Not supposed to use a magnum. But, since it has very nominal recoil, shoots pretty flat, extremely accurate, and has killed every deer DRT I guess maybe I'll keep using it.

Once you get to a certain point, the law of diminishing returns kicks in.

I only hunt mostly with 257 Weatherby and 270 Winchester Short Magnum. Outstanding rounds. We hunt pretty open ground. My longest point blank shot was 375 yds with the 270 WSM. Dropped a different buck with one shot at 250 yd with the Weatherby and 100 gr. ammo.
Lots of different things can be successful, or not. It really comes down to the abilities and approach of the hunter.
I have been thinking about building a Savage/Shilen in 260 Rem. If I were going non magnum I would look there. Or maybe 6.5X55. I would look at a 129 gr. bonded polymer tip.
