I'll talk another time about the Wingmaster he later trotted out.

Ok, so after we did the deed with the 870 P, my dealer pulls out an older 870 Wingmaster, V suffix with original bolt and lifter, wearing a 20" rifle sighted slug barrel. The wood is very nice and the receiver is 98% plus, but the barrel has quite a bit of wear and slight external pitting. I looked it over and handed it back.

Says he "How about $185.00 OTD"? I was non-committal. Then he says "Well how about $225.00 OTD with this 26" barrel included?" I look at the barrel in its original box.....VR, fixed skeet choke, unused.

Well again you know the rest. I'll finish paying for it and pick it up on my next visit. Range report to follow.

Thats four 870s from the same guy in the last month or so....and I can't blame Steve for these. :p

Talk about good luck. Most vintage Wingmasters where I live stay on the shelves for a week at the longest.

I'm still on the search for a 26-28" fixed full choke Wingmaster :(

Don't bother buying any Lottery tickets for a while, you've used up your luck on these.

$225 for a Skeet Barreled WM with nice wood is a fairtomiddlin' price. The slug barrel is gravy.

:)

Art & Science applies to being as dumb as a brick and resisting the urge to take off in a dead run whooping and hollering the first step out the door from a deal like this.

Striker - "you done good" Congrats! :D

You got an excellent deal. Old Wingmasters are the coolest -- I can finally say that. Now, if I can only find as good a deal on a 26" barrel for mine.
Post pics if you can.
