Another civilian poster banned from CopTalk

Special deals for special folks continue at GT.

There is a double standard. Go look at the CopTalk forum at www.glocktalk.com. Most of the civilian posters on that forum have been driven off by an ugly group of self-described LEO's known as the "troll patrol." Wo unto you if you "admit" that you are not a police "groupie."

The GT management has admitted to a policy of allowing LEO's to freely bash civilian posters. Here's one of the candid comments that eventually got me banned (interestingly, in PM's to me, Eric never denied the pro-LEO bias he encourages):

This is the first thread where the CopTalk "pro-LEO" double standard has been so obviously and flagrantly at work. It's still going after 90 posts.

If a civilian had started a thread entitled "Law Enforcement Officers lie ...," the moderators would have closed it before the first page filled up.

If a civilian had posted the sort of personal attacks that the "usual suspect" LEO's have repeatedly posted here (rude personal attacks), the moderators would have locked it after one or two.

And the civilians at fault would have received a personal warning. But since the vitriol continues, I suspect that hasn't occured to the offenders here.

"Rules" are even-handedly applied to everyone. Favotitism is applied as you choose to whom you want.

As one of the mods [joegerardi] said to me last year "They [the usual LEO posters] are incredibly clique-ish, and ... we [Mods] have been told to cut the LEOs more slack than anyone else on GT. It fries my bacon with what they are allowed to get away with."

Organized, management-sponsored trolling fries my bacon too.

I'll be back, though, as soon as I change my IP address.

Although I don't care for the site, I do lurk on occasion. I was following the thread in question this AM and it appears that you're not allowed to disagree with 'old timers',even politely.
