Another Glock owner converted

There is nothing wrong with glocks, just people who don't know there is life outside of owning one.

Exactly!

It's kinda like a Chevy fan who will only buy Chevies 'cause "ma daddy only bought Chevies".

There are many really great handguns out there and many have evolved beyond the block-glock.

It's really an interesting dichotomy folks who like Glocks seem to also lean towards AR-15s rather than AKs and that just seems counter-intuitive to me. Loose, sloppy chambers, durable to a fault, cheaply made, ergonomically challenged etc. make me feel that Glock is the AK of the pistol world. Mass produced, cheap, durable, dependable, just not all that refined, kinda rough around the edges.

Glock owners take the reliabilty of Glocks for granted.
They also overestimate the reliability of Glocks and underestimate the reliability of other guns. Whenever a guy at the range asks why I'd shoot so many 1911's when they are so unreliable, it's always a Glock guy. Funny thing is, they never get to see a failure out of any of my 1911's.

I never understood why people come back with "yeah, but Glocks are so reliable." Hell, all my guns are reliable, or I would either fix them or sell them.

I like Glocks and I like S&W, Ruger, Winchester, Browning, Marlin, etc. The Glock that I know about is the Model 19C - 9mm.

I never thought that because I owned a Glock that it was some kind of a 'god like' gun. I NEVER said that it was the best gun even if I never had a problem with it - some kind of cult religion. My late husband liked it too. My groom/husband loves all of his guns including Kimbers. Is one better than another one? Does one gal/guy prefer one over the other one? Most likely - yes.

I figured that any gun that I OWNED was ONLY as good as I SHOT IT and took care of it.

I love single action revolvers and lever action rifles too. I don't think that they are PERFECT nor do I think that GLOCK is perfect.

Apples and oranges - various types of guns.

I love Glock and never had a problem with it nor did I have one with any other gun that I own and/or previously owned.

If a person is happy with ANY gun, clean it, they can handle it easily and SHOOT IT WELL... great! I don't think it is a matter of 'converting' anyone to anything worse off a GUN. I don't think of guns as I do theology!

If you're going to ditch Glocks... at least trade up! get a high end 1911, or a Hk, even a Sig and I'll understand it (a little), but to ditch glock pistols for a Ruger "p" series pistol just seems weird. Good Shoothing though1

Yes, we can like many brands and types of guns!

I do the above and did it long before I found this board.

I have a Ruger P-944 & while the ergonomics of it are probably not for everyone it is a good gun. I also have a XD-40 & which of the 2 I am most accurate with depends mostly on which one I have shot the most recently. I have never owned a Glock though I do believe they are good guns. While I have never owned a P-90 they have a reputation for accuracy.
