why do people bash the glock pistols. they are in the top list of fire arms so why all the fuss. i have had a cop come up to me once with his fancy thousand dollar sig and tell me he was gonna have a talk with his captain about switching to the glocks after only shooting a few rounds through it (he claimed he loved the easy trigger pull and weight). so whats with all these know-nothings telling people not to buy them?

Don't know, don't care

I bought my first Glock just yesterday, should have it ready to pick-up on Monday! Hopefully all the type is true....but I don't see how it couldn't be. Our government, as well as other governments (Both state and national) wouldn't be so true to the weapon if it wasn't 'all that'

I think a lot of people hate because it's a 'gangster' gun, and the fact that it's a polymer, which blows my mind because nowhere does it say an all metal gun performs any better than a part polymer gun.

They are dead reliable but they dont fit hands too well. They are totally utilitarian. They work for what they are made for but not much else. If I was a cop and was issued one I would have no problem with a Glock.

I think its the whole plastic thing, I find most Glock haters hate other poly firearms also. They also seem to be mostly old-timers (I'm 50) dedicated to the 1911 design and single action trigger. They like cleaning their guns after every few hundred rounds.

My first two pistols were 1911s, no real problems with either, shot a SIG 226 for a while, no real issues. Then I bought a Glock 34 and never looked back, easy to modify, never have to clean, never malfunction. I have gone over 2000 rounds without cleaning and easily have 10,000 rounds through he gun, no issues, maybe a handful of failures to feed/eject using reloads.

I would rather shoot a reliable $500 dollar Glock than any 1911 I have shot or seen shot in the past 5 years shooting IDPA matches.

Reliability!!!!

You asked the question, so don't strike me down for giving my opinion!

Some of us believe that apart from grips or stocks that plastic doesn't belong on a gun. No matter what they call it, it is still plastic and if it is so good why dont they make the slide and barrel out of it???? Because it isn't as strong. So my thought is that I will just stick to the good old metal frames while you can get them.

In the end---whatever makes you happy!

And the cop who "loved the easy trigger pull of the Glock" compared to his SIG?

That guy has been smoking crack he took away from some druggie.
