I put my new Titanium pmr30 through its preliminary paces today. 100 rounds of mostly CCI maxi mag but a few 40g Winchester FMJ's.

My initial impression is the trigger is VERY good. If anything a little too good if such a thing is possible. Coming from DA triggers I will have to slow down and take some time to train my finger to this new trigger's feel.

Accuracy was very good, the sights will require some adjustment as I was shooting a bit left.

The recoil is almost NIL I swear even less than a blowback 22lr like my MkII so followup shots are FAST. The gun was so easy to handle two separate 10 year olds had no problems running the gun and getting COM hits on an old computer and some plastic pink flamingos.

Reliability with both loads was 100%

I had the chance to send a couple of rounds into wet phonebooks. The maxi mags penetrated right at a foot! But exhibiting no expansion, not that I would expect any from wet paper. However The interesting thing is that although CCI advertises these as JHP's they are in reality just plated.

All in all I like the gun and will continue to evaluate it for a lightweight CCW and outdoors sidearm.

Now, if only .22mag ammo didnt cost more than bulk 9mm....

That is true but while looking at ammunition prices I realized something.

9mm and 22wmr costs are similar on the low ends. But the cheap 9 will be plinking grade FMJ whereas the 22 will be JHP's typically. The non gouged price for hornady critical defense 22WMR ammunition for example is $15 ish dollars per 50 vs $18 per 25 for 9mm

So it kind of evens out somewhat

Where did you purchase your new PMR-30? I have been looking and looking since last spring, and I have never found one anywhere for less than $500.

Two words

Social media.

I put out on a local Facebook firearm trader group that I was looking for one and not 20min later a semi local kitchen table FFL messaged me that he had just got 6 in for $500 each.

I realize that is still a bit more than a "normal" retail but honestly I don't see them coming down much for quite some time yet.

I'm probably gonna bite the bullet and put in an order for a K of 22wmr ammo and just wait for it to fill.

That's about the going rate right now. The availability of a lot of KT weapons is perpetually something to bemoan. I still want an RFB, but the relative scarcity means they're all at or above MSRP. Those were released in 2008, but didn't really become available until the last couple of years unless you were willing to pay considerably more than MSRP. I want a CMR-30, too, but I ain't payin' $900+ for one.

I bought a PMR30 a few months ago at our local gun show for less than $400. So far it has been one of the most fun guns I've ever used. During the first few rounds, maybe three of the first 15, didn't feed right, but after that the gun has been just right. So far I've tried Hornady, various CCI, Armscor, S&B and a few Winchester rounds. They all seem to do fine even though Kel Tec says to avoid a few of the brands.

I went ahead and bought a case of ammo, 2000 rounds, so I could assure a steady diet. In bulk, the price of the CCI Min Max was about $12 per box. Picked up an extra mag, extra buffers, (after around 450 rounds it looks like it takes a beating) and, just in case, an extra recoil spring assembly. That's how much I enjoy this thing.

I've now got the hots for a CMR30, but they only grow on unicorn horns around here.

Enjoy that fnw KT.
