Thanks for the welcome back and best wishes to you as well. I see we are both from the PacNorWest. Western Wasington here. I'm headed back to the sand as soon as I resolve some family issues here in the states.
I'm still a devout AR platform-lover, I'm just considering some different caliber upper recievers for my personal needs. I think the M-4 is a great little rifle to carry, I just think (in fact know) the green tip ammo is garbage for quick incapacitation on human size targets. I really like the .50 Beowulf and I have heard alot of good things about 6.8. Hopefully these 2 rounds will become more available so that I can justify buying the uppers someday.
I have heard the 7mm08 is a great hunting round. I havent heard of anyone having used the round for self-defense, but I dont see why it wouldnt make a good defense round, depending on the platform you choose.
