Face Book I can't believe some of the stuff I read on there. People wanting to ship powder without the hazmat endorsement, other people asking for data and loading it without a book to cross check it. I just can't believe 1/2 the stuff I read.

There's a PIF page as well that is little more than folks asking for free stuff. Very few people actually offering anything. I put a shellholder on there and got no takers. I'm out of there too.

I see folks asking for data all the time on gun forums too, and know darn well if they're too lazy to look it up themselves in the first place, that they ain't gonna take the time to confirm it before they use it. Many times they are looking for a recipe for a bullet/powder combo that can't be found and thus there's no published data anyway. As for the Hazmat endorsement, that's just a shipping company thing. I too would like to buy powder/primers without paying it. Funny how one needs to pay it when shipping powder and primers separately, but put them together in ammo and you don't need to.

Facebook has tons of problems with idiot people making idiotic posts. It ain't just in their reloading page...........

I don't mind people asking about a load for a bullet they don't have a manual for if your double checking. I know I have done that. Or asking what powder is most popular for a given caliber, but what I don't get is the flat out asking for load data and not even having a book to check it against. How can you have any confidence in it. But then againI if you are not concerned about any of the other information what difference is powder going to make at that point.

I would also like to buy powder and primers without hazmat, but I understand why the regulations are there and I am not about to try to skirt them. Last night there was a guy telling someone that you could just ship the stuff without any worries. And the guy asking about it was believing him. It's just amazing what I have read on there so far.

If it wasn't just plain irresponsible and possibly criminal, my standard response would be "26.2 gn of Titegroup".

I shall refrain, however.

I had to come in here and ask for loading data for those lowbase 12 gage 2 1/2 inch shells but I had dug through everything that I could find online and 100 manuals that I have and could find nothing but that load is only produced by two companies anymore as the rest dropped making it in the 1930s.

I but I see some really lazy questions and wonder how many kabooms are going to happen.

That's a different Ballgame. Too many on that Facebook page will say: "I don't have a manual. Can someone look up data for 55gn .223 with Varget, 4064, 4895 BLC2, 2015, 4198, 700X, 4227, H350, Retumbo and unicorn sperm?"

Just saw it today in fact. Havent read it however. I only need info for 9mm and 223, and soon .45. I have all the info I need, and when something doesnt square, I ask here and my more experienced reloading friends. Best advice is age old, buy several different manuals, download info from the powder site, and or bullet site, start low and work your way up. Oh, and join this group at thehighroad.org!

:what::evil:

Hey, people here do it all the time too- then you get called out by telling them to buy a book or two

Remember that the next time someone posts the " My new reloadin' kit" list, and we all comment on it, and it has no books :scrutiny:

Well said. You can't throw a rock around here without hitting a post looking for load data or my favorite "pet load". Lazy people destine to blow themselves up.......

Maybe a better question is "anybody belong to Facebook?".

I sure don't. The closest I come is Instagram which they happened to buy. I like looking at and posting pictures of German Short Haired Pointers and VWs because I own them. I have no need for the FB drama or other garbage. Who doesn't like looking at pictures?

I'm part of the Lee precision reloading and casting page on Facebook. It's not a bad page at all. The only stupid things I have seen are one guy thought OAL listed in load manuals was the maximum, and another guy couldn't figure out how to calculate his reloading cost per round. They were taken care of rather quickly tho.

You know, I think I am deleting my facebook page. I never wanted to do it, I see it as a giant privacy invasion app. !

Well I kinda view it as a two edged sword. It's great for passing along information. But as pointed out, it has it's down falls.

Perhaps we could call that ignorant rather than stupid. That is one of those things that is not so obvious in reloading "how-to" material.
