I don't want to ruffle any feathers, but men ARE more physical than women and have evolved to be so. Men (and this is always on the average) display better hand-eye coordination than women and have quicker "fast-twitch"-type reflexes. While there are plenty of women out there who are stand-outs, the top slots in all shooting sports are held by men and would be held by men even if more women were competing.
On the other hand, it's SO MUCH easier to teach the basics to a woman and have her shooting well because women don't have ego and machismo wrapped up in guns that men do. I've even seen beginning male shooters flinch voluntarily because (I think) that they are used to playing with toy guns as kids and making a "recoil motion" or because they have some shooting gesture as adults accompanied by the "recoil motion". One guy I taught had a two-stage flinch wherein you could actually SEE the recoil of the handgun bring the gun up to a certain point and THEN, instead of fighting the recoil DOWN immediately, the guy unconsciously brought it up MORE before bringing it down to his line of aim again.
