I'm writing a piece about anti-gun hypocrites who carry guns or have bodyguards. I remember something about some St. Louis area police chief who made a big deal out of his not carrying a gun because his city was so safe or they aren't effective for self-defense, but then he had a few full-time officers drive him around acting as bodyguards.

I did a THR search and a google search, but couldn't find anything. Anybody got a link?

I'm not sure at all, but I think I remember that it was not the St. Louis P.D. Chief, but the Chief of Police in Kansas City, Mo. (?????????????)

No matter, still the same hypocracy.

Make sure you mention Feinstein (she has a carry permit, but obviously doesn't want anyone else having a gun) and that Washington "columnist" who ran story after story of antigun tripe, then turned around and shot a skinny-dipper in his pool one night (Carl something or other, I think?)

Don't know who the police chief was but after reaching the position of chief they are not cops anymore but rather polititians bending to the will of their respective mayors who for the most part seem to be anti when it comes to guns.

I can't help you with the name of the police chief, Mr. Naked Prophet, but the article sounds interesting. Could you post it in here once you get it written?

The current City of St Louis Police Chief is Mokwa

The last one was Ron Henderson. He had a typical anti-gun stance.

Los Angeles Police Dept's Chief Willie Williams, who replaced Daryl Gates, had to have the police commission issue him a concealed weapons permit because he couldn't/wouldn't qualify as a California peace officer. He came to Los Angeles after being a deputy chief in Philadelphia, PA.

All he had to do to become a CA peace officer is take and pass a three week equivalency course. It is not terribly difficult provided one was a competent and certified peace officer in another state.

Still wouldn't allow him to use it on duty, if Califony law is the same as Florida.
