EFK Firedragon sells their own for $65 and DPM Systems sell theirs for about $85 USD. Which sounds a bit pricey but when you think that, depending on your handgun, you'd be replacing the plastic guide rod for a stainless one. That costs about $25 usually, so its not so bad. If you planned on doing that anyways its like your paying $40 for the recoil system.

So has anybody used one of these before? How well do they reduce recoil? Im going to put one in a Glock 30 which is a sub compact so I want something to cushion the blow a little bit.

Sprinco Recoil Reducer

I haven't used the EFK but have used the Sprinco for over 3,000 rounds in a Beretta 96 Inox. I can tell a real difference in shot recovery time on double tap and the reduction in the spread of the double tap. I am using it in the .40 S&W and it has been totally reliable. They are good folks there and will take care of you. The EFK may be just as capable, just don't have any experience with it.

Thanks for mentioning this scratch, I hadnt seen Sprinco before, for some reason Im likin the Sprinco's better. Maybe its because of the pitch they use :). Of course they dont have it available for the Glock 30, but they do have it for my CZ 75 SP-01!

I use a Sprinco in my Witness Match 10mm and noticed a big difference. Plus they have some awesome mil spec lubricant for firearms. Alan is an awesome person to work for. I accidently ordered the wrong size recoil spirng and he got me squared away real fast. He also gave me some pointers and ideas on how to prevent the brass from flying 40ft away.

I am really considering one for my Kahr. Its very, very tempting.

I have the EFK in my Beretta 92F and Colt Delta Elite and had one in a Colt Government before I sold it. It worked perfectly on those platforms. Never a hiccup.

However, I tried it in a Colt Commander and it made the thing malfunction like crazy. Put it back to stock and it never hiccuped again. I email and called the folks at EFK and they told me to send it back - but I never received a replacement or refund :(

Went a different route with a Colt Officer 1911 where the recoil plug sometimes shears off the retaining flange. Use a Para dual recoil system and it works great in the Colt.

I use Springco's in all my Beretta's. Have been very reliable for me, all told probably around 100,000 rnds.
The Springco setup allows you to use various recoil spring weights to control slide cycle speed, but still stops the slide from impacting the frame.
