so have a newer Jericho with a not captive recoil spring setup. recently got an Israeli police, or claimed as such, surplus nickel one. cleaned it.....has a captive recoil spring. very light tension compares to newer version. havent shot it to see if properly sprung. guess I could try that first. was planning on getting it up to speed though.

hit internet reading all I can find on these pistols recoil springs. very confusing what I've found. dual springs versions, captive wrong, captive right, different calibers same springs, different springs. all over the map.....

so replacing spring on captive involves some work removing a pin and such. cant find info on right spring to replace or any real details. not wanting to cut one and make my own. I'm a bad experimenter. I'm too cautious...

hit the iwi site found replacement spring. not for captive rod though. hit wolff site, no go. looked for replacement rod to switch to open rod design. found ones on numrich but too long. appearance maybe for a long slide version, not the normal full size steel version. guess I could cut it down to size. not really a great option.

contacted iwi on getting rod, said guns come complete. basically, and im paraphrasing, they dont have.

hit ebay, brownells and every site I could think of and google for gun parts. came up empty.

seen the dpm but it's about 1/3rd price of the surplus gun.

so I could use the modern recoil rod in the modern jericho I have and swap between guns but seems silly to have to do that.

anyone know any source? any angle I missed...or any info I havent found reading yet? appreciate any and all info known. thank you.
