Although I don't own a Hi point and have never shot one, my up the street neighbor has one in .45 ACP and is quite satisfied with it because it works. As far as I know it'e never jammed using hardball ammo. If it was the only gun I had or could afford, you damned well better believe I'd carry it. some way, some how!! :p

I plan on carrying one, but first I have to find a gang that will accept me! So far I'm too good a shot for all the gangs I've tried out for!:D

THAT'S IT! I need to take a Hi-Point next time I go and then I won't be able to hit #@&* and they will finally make me a member!

Sorry I couldn't resist...No bashing I remember:banghead:

I've owned the 9mm and 45 hi points...both shot decent and neither ever had a problem...not one FTE, FTF, etc. Ran mostly fmj's through them with an occasional box of hp's of some kind.

I used to keep the 45 at my shop, locked and loaded, in a desk drawer for emergencies but sold it a while back and picked up a Norinco 12 ga pump to keep over there.

My son has a 9mm version and has shot it 2x a month (or more) since he got it new and has never had any problems with his.

As for carrying, I could see the 9mm being small enough. I don't know about the 45 though, unless it was open carry while your out hunting...

...its just...well, let's see, my wife would say "fluffy"...:)

If it's sucky enough to have it buried in the Sonoran Desert (I still remember ), it's probably best not to own.

Myself, I've not shot one. Handled them, yes. But I value my limbs and life enough to not feel the need to try one out.

Snobbish? Only slightly so. Everyone has standards.

Iv seen lots of exploded Glocks. Never seen an exploded Hi-Point though. ;)

Hi-Points arent some kind of bomb.

I go for CZ's myself, Hope to get a Sig next. But good gracious, a hi-point wont explode on you any more than any other gun.

I think the 40/45 is a little big for carry, but if it was all I had I'd work something out.

I'm not a black person, but I've got one of their 9mm's that I put about 2,000 rounds through without any trouble. It goes bang when I pull the trigger, every time. It doesn't go bang when I don't pull the trigger. It puts holes in the target about where I figured they should show up.

And yes, from what the folks on the Hi-Point board say who have had to send them back for service, they do send you a free magazine to help offset the cost of shipping the gun back to them.
