Anyone convert a SxS to a double rifle?

V.M. Starr

I have a very nice DR modified from a DB Shotgun by V.M. Starr (V.M Starr 1973 on Barrel) with rifled inserts chambered for .30-40 Krag. That is all I know about it and I have had trouble finding out anything about this gun.Any help?

They have a forum section devoted to double rifle conversions, although you do have to register to even see it.
Some of the work is fantastic, the guys here talking about commercial inserts and blacksmith sleeves will be impressed.

West Kentucky, Brownell's current catalog lists a book called Building Double Rifles on Shotgun Actions. It is written by W. Ellis Brown and is the 2nd edition. Price is $50.
