I've been looking into getting a Krinkov lately (in 5.45) and I was wondering if anyone here has any experiances with them. Because Illinois doesn't allow SBR's, I'll have to go with the psuedo-suppressor, but the thing I am most considered with is deciding wheter to buy one whole, or just get a kit and reciever and send it off to a gunsmith.

For some reason it seems that buying one whole is much more expensive, but is it worth the extra money to be sure that it is built buy someone who is *very* familiar with the "little bitches" (Russian army slang for Krink's).

What about leaving the stock off, and making it a pistol?

That's my idea exactly! NY won't allow SBR's either, and I've got this urge to have a Krink. And because they look ugly as all get out with the 16" barrel on that tiny gun, I figure who needs the stock? They make slings for that! :p I'd absolutely love one that was registered as a pistol, if I could find it for less than $800

krink kits are expensive when you can find them for sale. when kvar was selling krink kits they were going for 400 bucks now ohio rapid fire is selling yugo krink kits for 480 shipped. once you buy the receiver, and other assorted parts plus labor you're already closing in fast on 800 bucks. i' purchased one of the orf krink kits and i figure once i'm finsihed building my krink pistol i'll have at least 800 into it. checkout www.atlanticfirearms.com they are selling some krink rifles and pistols.

Ohio Rapid Fire has yugo krink kits in 7.62 for $479 shipped. They are brand new and use a standard, non-bulged receiver. Add a $60 receiver and your in business. Just have the receiver transferred as a pistol and buy or make a pstol trunion so a stock cannot be added.

One of the guys that works at a local gun shop here just ordered one from ORF. When it gets here, he plans to put in the SBR paperwork and rip off the fake suppressor when the paperwork clears. Hopefully I'll get some pics and a range report from him with and without the fake suppressor on there.

Didn't Olympic create an uproar when making a pistol in 7.62x39 which resulted in the ban of surplus armor piercing ammo from import?

I may be mistaken, but I think lots of builders are strongly against 5.45x39 builds for the same reason.

There are some new/unissued M92 Yugo underfolder "krinks" just incountry. I think I'd prefer the side-folder 5.45 type myself and would take the fake suppressor over a pistol anyhow. (of course in texas we can own SBRs--our major gun contol comes from the crown--i mean feds, oops--in DC.)
