Another cold windy weekend at the bench and I have been kicking around the idea of building a shooting bench/trailer that could double as a blind.

Anyone here thrown together anything similar? If so, how did you set it up?

My best suggestion is an enclosed two Wheeled box trailer. They are available everywhere. You could fix them up with a Coleman Cookstove. A gas Mr heater. A cot. A folding table. Camp chairs.....mostly hunting stuff you already own.
If you get one with a double door or ramp door you can haul your atv in it....then pull it to your hunting spot with your atv. You wouldn't worry about someone ransacking it because you could bring it home on the off-season. Haul your lawnmower or mrs new furniture.
All you would need to do is cut in some blind style windows..
I suggest this after having built a nice shooting house out of more traditional materials.
Mine is somewhat mobile but it is permanently parked in my timber.

I cant find a picture, but a buddy built an elevated platform on a flatbed trailer. He intends to build a box blind on it, but for now just uses a popup blind. It allows him to have an elevated position anywhere he can pull the trailer typically different positions on the edge of fields.

For many years, Wisconsin considered shooting from a trailer was the same as shooting out the window of a car. Illegal unless you had a handicapped permit, or you removed the wheels once it was in place. Now that they changed the law, you see them all over. Usually just a box blind on a hay wagon.

I'm thinking of building a small one this year, just to "follow the corn" as my neighbor does his crop rotation.

Right now I use a regular pop-up blind, but having some height and heat would be great. It would be cool for kids during doe season.

I am building a scaffold to put up some lights and thinking it might be a shooting tower and maybe a building for one or two of my clay throwing machines, when I’m done with it in the shop.

Had me thinking something about half its size would be about right for a little trailer. A buddy gave me more than a ton of 1.5” 10ga formed angle, so that’s what the frame will be made from.

I want to make a sheep wagon to use around my place . I could use it for shooting cagey sparrows and starlings in my corrals , too .
