I’m looking at this because I live in NJ, and work in NYC (I know, I know move to Montana or Alabama or a state that you can actually own a gun… bla…bla…bla). For now that’s just not an option. Anyway, I commute via public transportation and carry a laptop case any way, and also my “survival” gear and gym clothes in a backpack, so I figured, if I could consolidate everything into one bag, it would make my life easier. Plus, I kinda look like a kid going to school with the whole backpack thing. I know that Maxpedition makes good stuff, but I was wondering about the practical usefulness of this bag. I usually don’t carry too much in the way of “survival gear”, so it would be less of a BOB, and more of a laptop case with benefits. What I carry for gear every day is:
Surefire executive
A small first aid kit
A Buck multi-tool
Some power bar type things
A pair of rubber gloves
About 50’ of 550 cord
A compass (don’t know why, I just always have one on me)
Contact case & solution
Sun glasses
Cell phone
Calculator

I do like that you can concealed carry with it because I do have my NJ CCW (my recently deceased uncle was a judge, and signed my app) , so in NJ, when not commuting I like the option of carrying in the bag.

Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks-
Knoxx

I love Maxpedition stuff, guess that's why I'm a dealer, keeps me in my "fix"!

I find if you get the items in a neutral color, like tan/khaki they don't scream "tactical" as much. Yet you still retain all the practical stuff you wanted in the first place.

V.Oller...

Is the link in your signature your store? If so, you have to tell me when you get more of these in stock:

"Eric Blair Toxic Toys “Titan Brain Spike”

I want one, I want one bad!!!

Hello knoxx45:

Maxpedition stuff is built like a "tank" and will last you forever. I have a tactical attache (will hold the 17" Mac) and it is a real jewel to carry stuff - including a 17" Mac when I need to).

IMHO they absolutely do not shout "gun" at all. They tend to look like a thousand other bags carried by a thousand other guys. Great piece and if you buy one you will never regret it.

They make great products and I have the Condor backpack. However, much of their stuff is a little too Hollywood Tacticool for everyday carry. Unless you are going for a certain "look" - you would probably blend in better sticking with your backpack or something more generic looking.

I would take a look at their MPB since it is a little more discrete looking. I lived a good portion of my life in East Jersey and L.I. and not standing out is a plus.
