Anyone know what this mystery number stamped on a Taurus 689 is?

Hi,

I talked to two people at Taurus customer service about this. While they were nice, pleasant people, they have no idea what this number designates.

I'm hoping one of you die-hard Taurus guys might know.

The number is 3342. It is stamped on the yolk below the 689 model number.

If you look the same number is on the frame. It is the way they match a specific cylinder to a specific frame in the manufacturing process,

Maybe it's part/batch/process/QC inspection number/mark?
