Anyone mounted an eotech on a 4 rail hanguard (AR)?

Does it work well that far forward? Do you have a setup that would allow it to cowitness with an A2 carry handle? Any pics?

I have an A2 carbine and would like to add a red dot. I am leaning towards eotech and would rather not use a gooseneck mount to the carry handle.

I know for a fact I don't want it on top of the carry handle.

I'd like to avoid getting an A4 upper and just pick up a free float rail handguard and put an eotech on that...

You should be able to co-witness with a carry handle. My Eotech is mounted on the receiver, but I have flip up sights that match the height of the carry handle rear and they line up perfectly.

If you are really curious, I can move the sight to the top rail and take a pic for you.

It will mount fine, co-witness fine, and be usable, the only question is whether or not it will maintain zero.
