I think when it comes to concealed carry holsters, you get the retention protection from "concealment". I'd bet the vast majority (maybe 80-90%) of all concealed carry holsters in use don't have a true retention device. Take any such holster and put it on the man in the video, with gun in plane sight, let someone walk up behind him, and presto, the gun comes right out of the holster.
For open carry, I'd opt for a belt slide holster, duty belt, and triple retention.
But for concealed carry, I think a Fobus paddle is fine. Just my .02.
