AR-15 build ?

I am thinking of building an AR. Is there a shortest length barrel that is legal. I was think of putting a 10.5" barrel on an AR.

16 in is the shortest legal barrel. Some folks get "around" that restriction by using a shorter barrel and a permenantly attached flash supressor, compensator, etc that brings the total length to 16in.


You can build a shorter one in some states - but it'll cost you the $200 tax stamp and local law enforcement approval.
