I am looking to get an AR pistol, and I'm looking for recommendations. Initially I was thinking of Bushmasters Carbon 15's. Then I started to read about lots of problems with them jamming. Now I have started thinking about Olympic arms and Rock River. I like the OA k23 and OA 98. Anybody own one and have any comments? I like the 98's not having the extension off the back, but I figure it will later be more difficult to find parts for. Basicly, I want one of these pistols that has the short barrels, goes bang every time, uses standard AR mags, and will be able to find parts for a long time. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

If you like not having the buffer tube off the back, goes bang, uses AR mags, and has parts available, don't forget about the Kel-Tec PLR-16. It's also a gas piston design so it doesn't get as dirty, plus you'll save some $$.

I have a carbon 15 rifle and pistol with around 500 rounds each with no issue. I would not hesitate to buy another.

I'm still thinking about the carbon 15's, but I'd really like to hear from anyone with olympic arms or rock river pistol experience. There is something I just don't really like about the kel-tec's. I don't know what it is, probably irrational.
Thanks

No problems with my Carbon 15, Model 21. However, doesn't mean problems have not existed. :)

Is it true that carbon fiber is stronger than aluminum?

I really liked the idea of the carbon 15. I was planning on getting the 21s, until I started hearing about so many problems. I believe that most of them work well, but I'm just a little skeptical when I hear even a few comments about them jamming. I do appreciate the input though. Thanks

I've got the Carbon 15 and two Kel Tec PLR pistols.
Although I have had no problems with the Bushmaster, IMO the PLR is superior in every way.
For instance,
Cost
Muzzle velocity
Reliability
Accuracy
Accessories
1st class customer service
Lifetime warranty

I may consider the kel-tec, despite my irrational thought to avoid them. Does anyone else have any experiences with any of these?
Thanks

I love mine!!

I would suggest going the build it yourself route. It's more fun, and if you buy parts from a decent maker, you won't have any trouble with it going bang every time... I built mine out of a virgin RRA lower reciever, and Model 1 sales kit... I got basically all the stuff I wanted(really cool short barreled AR) without all the dough, wait, and fuss(cleo sign off) of going the NFA route :).

If you don't like the idea of doing it yourself, or just don't want to have to wait to piece it together, I would go the PLR-16 route. Either way, these are some of the most eye catching, and contreversial pieces you will see at the range...

Heres mine with a cheapie BSA 30mm red dot on it just for the picture. It now has a simple BUIS on it, and is as accurate at 50 yards as at 25. Now I just gotta get a suppressor and SBR this thing:cool::evil:!!!

Still 2 Many Choices!?
