I bought the Guns&Ammo Bullpup issue, and they have several reprinted articles in it. Among them is an article from 1975 about the Bushmaster Maxi-Blaster, a development of the Air force 'Imp' survival weapon. The Maxi-Blaster was a bullpup pistol. Yes, a bullpup pistol. Firing 5.56x45mm. Combine an OA-93 with an SA-80 and you have what it looks like, only it's just 20" long.

Was there not alot of demand for this? did ATF shut the 'pistol' down before it could be distributed? Because, looking at the gun, the receiver has no padding on it's backside (though it is considerably broader than the back of an AR-15 receiver extension).

I can't find anything on this gun aside from what was in the magazine. Would something like this be legal, or would ATF wag their finger and get-out the handcuffs?
