I got a p-223 canceled sight from Nikon and a Nikon p 223 scope for my new AR15. However the scope's view is partially blocked by traditional AR front sight. Would a riser for the scope mount help or raise the scope too high?

The traditional fix for that is changing out or shaving down the front sight base. Depending on the riser, the scope could move up enough, but then you may have to get a cheek pad to get a decent cheek weld while using the scope. Look into a low profile or flip up front sight gas block or shave down your current one.

Have you used the rifle since you mounted the scope? With the scope at a low power setting the front sight will be transparent but a little blurry, and at higher powers you won't even see it.

If it's still a problem, don't mount the scope higher. Like spazzy said, that will keep you from getting a good cheek weld. Instead, remove the front sight altogether.
