To the untrained (my) eye, all lower parts kit look similar.

With what I've read, it seems most differences are in the trigger pull.

I really like the idea of a timney trigger. If I had one of those, would there really be a difference in dpms, stag, or rock river lower kits?

No.

I did my first lower with straight parts out of the box. When you have done it, you know how to change up and upgrade the parts you want to, if you want anti-walk pins, a trigger upgrade, oversize safety, etc, you know how to order it seperately and put it in as you go.

I think they're pretty much the same also, especially if you're replacing the trigger group. I got a Del-Ton LPK for my build last summer and worried whether I should have gotten something better but it's worked out fine. Trigger a little rough but it's smoothed out over time and is a passable "milspec" trigger now.

BTW, I'm not talking about that ultra cheap junk with plastic pins, hammers, etc.

Only other difference I can think of is some still have a notched hammer, which won't work with some bolts (.22 conversions and pistol calibers, I think).

there is absolutely a difference. i've seen plenty of cheap parts break or cause problems. one thing they all had in common... "i bought it at a gun show"

that said, there probably isn't any difference in dpms/rra (since they're both owned by cerebus) and stag
