I recently traded my Bushmaster 16" upper for a Colt Hbar 20" and now I want to upgrade the trigger group to take advantage of the new upper. BUT this rifle will still be my SHTF rifle so I want it to still be tough and reliable. Can you guys recomend me a new trigger group that has a good pull for increased accuracy, but is still a tough reliable unit?

JP makes a fantastic adjustable single stage trigger. FWIW I haven't shot am AR 2 stage trigger, but if it's anything like a M1A trigger it will be good depending on your experience.

I'll tell you what; I just got my trigger parts back from Bill Springfield, and the difference is night and day. For $35.00, I got a light crisp trigger with no creep and a clean break.

I highly recommend his work. ( I also had it back in 4 days!)

The military currently uses the KAC two-stage trigger in their Mk 12 sniper rifles. It is expensive but very good. That and the geissele 2-Stage are the only two that the military use, that I know of.

The KAC is a great one, but hard to get due to military orders. Timney makes a really good drop-in single stage, but it's $200. the RRA is cheaper, but IMO not as good.

I have heard that RRA's design eventually wears down to a dangerously light single-stage trigger. I do not have personal experience with it.

Armalite has come out with their own 2-stage design and I think it would be worth a look. They seem slow to introduce stuff but seem to get it right when they do.
