Are firearms your #1 hobby/activity?

Nah first hobbies would be Dirtbikes, The DRZ eats up most of my weekends and free time, then it is probably the Redsox, but I don't remember a time since I was born that baseball, going to games, playing and watching it wasn't part of everyday life, so I dunno if that is really a hobby but it eats up alot of my budget, After that would be Jeeps, proud XJ and TJ owner, dealing with the politics of land use issues and state roadway regs, But collecting Mosin Nagants and shooting them is also up there.

After my family and job, guns take up most of my hobby time at the moment, but I'm easing back into balance. I'm also a movie buff, and aspiring screenwriter. I'm also a Sci Fi TV show junkie as well ;)

Stargate rocks!

No, my number 1 hobby is running marathons. My somewhat unrealistic goal is to run one in all 50 states. With 5 states under my belt including Alaska I have a decent start but at age 59 I will have to pick up the pace. Gun collecting is certainly my most expensive hobby. poppy

Nope. Cycling would land in the #1 spot. I spend much more money and time with that hobby. Keeps me fit and healthy, and is a great way to relax, and get a serious adreneline fix.

After that, fishing. I fish more times a year then I shoot.

My favorite hobby used to be riding my Suzuki GSX-R. But due to getting hit by an Oldsmobile while riding a friends' bike, I now have a paralyzed left foot. And a screwed up hip and left leg.:( (Actually getting a hip replacement on Dec. 8th.) Hopefully going to ride again this spring. With the help on an electric shifter on the bike.
That said, right now guns are a hot hobby for me. In one year I have gotten something like 10 or 11 guns. I mix them up I think it is 1/2 handguns, and 1/2 rifles. I really enjoy them and they take my mind off the bike somewhat.
I also used to be big into aquariums, but with the limited space in the new house, the is no place to set up any tanks.:(

I rotate my hobbies, as I always go overboard with each and it is difficult to keep a healty balance between them. Plus......they are expensive hobbies. Their ranking always changes, but they are:

1) Firearms - over 40 of them, now
2) Motorcycles - 4 of them plus the wife's bike
3) Guitars and Basses - I used to play in a band and once had 43 guitars/basses

For those of you who are also into motorcycles, here's what we've got:

1) 2002 Ducati 748 monoposto
2) 1998 Ducati ST2
3) 1994 Suzuki GSXR-750
4) 1985 Harley FXEF
5) Husqvarna WXC-360

I've also been through 44 States, 2 Canadian Provences, and into Mexico on two-wheels over the last five years.

Fishing and camping would be #1 & #2 for me.
Turkey hunting #3 but thats firearm related.

Unfortunately, my work schedule leaves little time for 1 & 2 so I do spend more time with the firearms than doing the others. I can usually free up an hour or two to shoot or read/learn gun stuff. Rarely do I get an entire day to get the boat out to fish or weekend to camp.

I also read, mountain bike, canoe, airbrush, cars/wrenching (restoring an '85 Fiero for my son), In-line skating, and home improvements.

I also spend alot of time at The Knights of Columbus as the Entertainment Committee, Rod & Gun club member and volunteering time for other charitable events they do.

Bass guitars & related bass gear soak up most of my spare cash, but firearms, ammo & accessories are at a very close second place. Between the two I could easily spend every penny I ever get, but I'm pretty content with what I already have and try to limit new toys.

Currently this game is my #1 recreational/non fitness activity.

Followed by tending my aquatic garden and meeting the demands of the four furry feline Masters in the house.

paintball
guns
martial arts (systema and combat tai chi)
poker

and lets not for get rabble-rousing, tomfoolery and skylarkings

I collect knives & swords as well. But I would say that weapons in general, and learning how to use them are my #1 hobby.

I have 2 Bandit 400's and a 99 7R...and an Aprilia Mille R, BMW F650,3 Honda Hawk GT's,an MZ Skorpion,an XS650 and a 500 Interceptor ratbike. I like motorcycles a little bit.Surfing,kayaking,sailing,off-roading,flyfishing;far too many reasons to be broke and single:eek:

Future mother in law calls the house last night and during the conversations she asks my fiance if I'm home. My fiance reply's: Yep, he's sitting on the couch looking at a gun magazine. Future mother in law says: Huh, that figures. :scrutiny: Not exactly sure what she means by that. lol

To answer directly, yes. Firearms are most favorite hobby. Shooting, going to gun shows, reading gun mags, perusing gun boards online and yes, even cleaning my guns is a great time. My Mom actually asked me one time if I thought the world was going to end because of my stockpiling, guns, ammo, water, food, etc. As a joke I told her if the world ended tomorrow she better not come to my house looking for protection and food. Did I mention that was a joke? She didn't think it was funny. ;)

Oh I definitely have other hobbies. I Golf, Ski, play Softball & Flag Football, rollerblade, mountain bike, work out etc. They are great, but I have more fun shooting.

No. Flying my airplane is #1, but I would say the shooting sports are #2.

No. My first love is reserved for horses. Guns and shooting share second place along with bass fishing, wildlife photography, hiking and backpacking, caving, canoing and kayaking, and natural history.

Most years college football is #1...games, recruiting, etc. When my team isn't doing well, guns take over the #1 spot until my team is back up again. Now that we just moved across the country, I would like to get into camping since we've got lots of national forests/parks within a reasonable distance.

Hobbies

I'd define a hobby as a spare-time recreational pursuit. A gun isn't a hobby, it's a tool. Collecting guns could be a hobby, but I don't collect them. Shooting could be a hobby, but it doesn't top my list. Most of the time, I shoot to keep in practice, or to teach my daughters how to defend themselves.

My hobby is marine reef aquaria. Huge waste of money, but I enjoy it!

Yep, C&R license, shooting, learning the history of them. Gun nuttery is my chief hobby, and then most of the rest of my hobbies kind of tie into it in some way.

Way of Life

Sking is a way of Life, so is firearms ownership and use.Top of the line ski gear costs more than a great pistol. Ski passes cost more than ammo. In the winter my prime pass time is skiing, in warm Wx its shooting or fishing (my boat costs LOTS more than all my ski gear + firearms). I got too many hobbies, but I am totally comitted to full time recreation.:)
