Brand snob
–noun 1. a person who imitates, cultivates, or slavishly admires one gun maker's brand and is condescending or overbearing to anyone else's other gun brand selections.

Come on now, you know who you are! :uhoh:

When someone posts that Brand X (the brand you worship) may have some shortcomings, you flip-out! :cuss: You can't type and post a defense of Brand X fast enough.

How dare someone report a failure-to-feed about Brand X! It MUST be operator error or they MUST be using cheap ammo or limp-wristing! Did they do a proper break-in of 5000 rds and clean and lube the gun every 50 rds with Brand X Super-Lube only!?

Someone reports that Brand X customer sevice is slow to respond. HERETIC you say! They must be burned at the stake for such statements. THEY must have called when the service dept was all down with the bubonic plague that is going around at Brand X headquarters. You must be PATIENT with Brand X! :banghead:

You know who you are, you Brand snobs...............:neener:

Start the New Year right. Right here and now. Confess and be cleansed of you fanatic devotion to Brand X.

We will ALL forgive you, our fellow THR friend. ;) :D

OK...You got me.

Im NailGun, and....I'm a brand snob....

I believe that only guns starting with "M" are worthy of my unwavering favoritism. I snobbishly defend the "M" guns with arrogance and condescending overbearingness. What are these "M" guns you ask?

M91/30, M28, M39, M44, M1911, M2, M1969, *.Mauser, M-p5, MARLIN, Makarov, M16.*, M1, M14.....and the list goes on and on.

WHell...I guess that the "R" guns do sort of...have some sort of ...purpose for their existence.... Made for heretics, i guess. Personally I would rather be burned at the stake. :fire:

There...I feel much better. NailGun. :D

This rant...brought to you by the letter "M"...

I often wonder if I am the only voice of reason in the wilderness of Brand xxx is the only one to own.
I got short arms and deep pockets, If it works and you are comfortable with it then fine.

For some reason, I find myself thinkng about looking for a Hi-Point at the next gun show. But it'll be like buying porn - have to shell out for a 'real gun' at the same time so I don't look like a creep.

Contrary to everything my father told me once upon a time, they don't automatically blow up in your hand!

Nope, I won't bad mouth or put down any gun until i've been able to try it out.

Sure my semi-auto's are all Glock's and my revolver tend to be S&W's, but that don't make me a brand snob does it?:neener:

Not really a snob, I just have mostly Rugers, thnking about buying another. I do have one Baretta and one Kel-Tek mixed in for good measure though.

I like to try different makes and designs, mostly for self-defense. I own a (no!) Cobra Patriot .45 that shoots well as long as you use 230gr ammo, a (oh no!) Charter 2000 Undercover that goes bang everytime and is a nice CC gun, and a Taurus PT145 that is my favorite CC .45. But I also have a couple of Colt and S&W revolvers than I'm saving as investments.

Let's hear it for choice.

I'm not a brander but I firmly believe people should buy the very best gun they can afford be it rifle, shotgun or handgun.
Never skimp on a firearm choice, the more expensive guns are almost always the best buys.

I currently own the following brands:

Browning
Beretta
Remington
Bushmaster
Rock River Arms
CZ
Springfield Armory
Smith & Wesson
Kahr

I have owned and sold the following brands:

Browning
Beretta
Remington
Sig
Ruger

I buy guns based on proven reliability, not brand name.

I don't think I am a brand snob........but..............there are a few brands I just don't understand.

I have never seen the "value" or "appeal" of Ruger or Taurus guns.

In my eyes most Ruger guns look like lower cost options to better brands.

I agree about the Taurus's. But, IMHO, Ruger revolvers are every bit the equal of S&W revolvers in regards to quality and reliability. S&W does have an edge on looks -- Rugers tend to be a bit fugly.

+1 to that.

Quality is remembered long after the price paid is forgotten.

/not a brand snob
//Won't own a Taurus

-----> Hardcore brand/caliber snob here. I say "piss on the 45 ACP and the 9mm", better known as the 9 puny-meter.:neener: The Taurus Mil-Pro rules and so does the Springfield XD, did I mention the 40 S&W king?:D All hail to the 40!:neener:

Just kidding! I know there are plenty of good guns out there, I only try to defend taurus against all the trash talkers, most people seem to like the XD's, not really a problem there.:D

I'll buy most anything and judge it on how it works.
For instance I like Kimbers because they are the best I've found.

There are some brands that I won't buy because of my experience with the guns or the company. For instance Glock, Colt, S&W (locks), Llima, EAA and a few more.

Better add Skyy to that list. I just bought one to try it out and it pretty much self destructed within 180 rounds.

Redneck with a 40
I only try to defend taurus against all the trash talkers

Most people do not know that the Taurus has a built in self sighting system and the owners don't tell.;)

My Taurus PT99 AFS did this while I had my eyes closed.

No brand snob, but when it comes to revolvers nothing beats a Colt or Smith. But, I do have Rugers and I am lusting after a certain Taurus. My expectations just aren't as high for anything other than Colt or Smith.

Autos? Never liked the rattle trap 1911's. Kimber makes a far better product other than perhaps the old Colt Gold Cups. Love my Ruger Mark II. Love my High Standard Victor. Any I like my Glocks just fine.

Hmm, well, maybe....

Can I plead the Fifth?:neener:

Actually, I would really love a nice Smith Model 10 4 inch again, and a 1911 pattern, so as to use my 45ACP dies.

All my revolvers are Rugers and for semi's I have a Bersa Thunder 380, Buckmark Camper and AMT AutoMag II. Rifle are CZ and mil-surp. Only shotgun now is a CZ Woodcock Deluxe 20 ga.
Do I make it as a SNOB? (Sloppy Noisy Old Bast#@d)
